The Faculty of Arts and Sciences is pleased to welcome 26 new full-time faculty for the 2026-27 academic year. Spanning all three A&S academic divisions (humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences) and representing 13 departments and the School of Professional Studies, our new faculty include professors at the tenured, tenure-track, and lecturer in discipline ranks.

Among new full-time tenured faculty, A&S welcomes:
Radhika Govindrajan, Associate Professor of Anthropology, a sociocultural anthropologist who works across the fields of environmental and agrarian studies, political and legal anthropology, gender and sexuality studies, the anthropology of religion, and South Asian Studies.
Joshua Foa Dienstag, Professor of Political Science, whose study of political theory centers on questions of time, history and narrative. The author of four books, he has written on Continental and American political thought as well as film, AI and the methods of political theory.
Christina Yi, Associate Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures, a scholar of modern and contemporary Japanese literature and culture, with a research focus on issues of postcoloniality, genre and narrative theory, language politics, and cultural studies.
Simone Pinet, Professor of Latin American and Iberian Cultures, who studies medieval and early modern Spanish literatures and cultures, from the thirteenth through the sixteenth centuries, especially in relation to spatiality, economics, poetics, translation, and most recently, sound.
Lue Pan, Associate Professor of Mathematics, whose research focuses on algebraic number theory, representation theory, and p-adic geometry.
New tenure-track colleagues include:
Amaryah Armstrong, Assistant Professor Religion, a scholar of race, religion, and sexuality whose work explores the intersections of black thought, political theology, and continental philosophy of religion.
Andrew Koh, Assistant Professor of Economics, who works primarily on game theory and mechanism design, with a focus on economic and policy implications of powerful AI systems, and mechanism design to align the behavior and preferences of strategic AI agents.
Erin Doherty, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, who uses biochemistry and structural biology to understand how viruses manipulate host immunity.
Lucas Mason-Brown, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, who studies representation theory, algebraic geometry, and the Langlands program, with a focus on using geometric tools to study representations of algebraic groups.
Aya Goldshtein, Assistant Professor of Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology, who studies the behavioral and sensory ecology of wild bats, from acoustic cognitive maps and collective navigation to sleep and vigilance in the wild.
