Lenfest Dinstinguished Faculty Award Call for Nominations

March 29, 2021

Dear Faculty and Students:

The Lenfest Distinguished Columbia Faculty Award recognizes the excellence of faculty as teachers and mentors of both undergraduate and graduate students within and outside the classroom setting. Established in 2005 with a $12 million gift from the late University Trustee Gerry Lenfest, the award not only carries with it professional recognition, it also provides an unrestricted stipend of $25K each year for three years.

We are writing to ask for nominations for this year’s award. There seems no more important time to honor and publicly celebrate our most distinguished teachers and mentors, in a year that has required so much of teachers and students both in and beyond our virtual classrooms.

You may nominate full-time faculty appointed in the Arts and Sciences. Nominations should include a description of the candidate’s distinction in relevant areas. We plan to meet later this semester to select this year’s awardees.

Please send your nominations by 5PM, Friday, April 30th, 2020 to Ruby Cruz at [email protected]). You may also contact Ruby with any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
