Career Development

National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity - In Fall 2018, the Provost's Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement announced Columbia's institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD). The NCFDD is an independent professional development, training, and mentoring community of faculty, postdocs, and graduate students from over 450 colleges and universities. Some NCFDD programs made available to junior faculty members include: The Faculty Success Program, 14-Day Writing Challenges, Multi-Week Courses, Core Curriculum Webinars, and Guest Expert Webinars. The Russell Sage Foundation is currently accepting applications to the Visiting Scholars Program for the 2020 - 2021 academic year and for future programs. The Visiting Scholars Progam provides a unique opportunity for both junior and senior faculty in the social, economic and behavioral sciences to spend a year in residence at Russell Sage Foundation in New York City. Scholars are invited to pursue writing and scholarship relevant to the RSF signature programs: Race, Ethnicity and Immigration; Social, Political and Economic Inequality; the Future or Work; Behavioral Economics.
